How far can vision take you?

Olympians have vision. They see themselves on the high beam or in the grand Olympic pool... they feel the electricity in the air, the warm pulse of adrenaline - all eyes fixed expectantly upon them, in a moment everyday sports people only dream of.

To compete at the Olympics you have to visualise yourself there and accept nothing but the very best from yourself until you achieve that vision. Hold that gold within your grasp!

I still pinch myself sometimes when I see children holding the artwork that I imagined and hand painted especially for them. It's wonderful to know there are kids out there, proudly wearing their Art Out Loud NZ tshirt or onesie design.  It thrills me to celebrate a family by painting a truly unique family tree; an eye-catching artwork to adorn their home and remind them of their unity.

I have come to realise that this is all part of my vision for my creative business - producing artwork that allows people to feel valued, amused, self-confident and intrigued - ultimately providing them with an experience of compulsion to explore the limits of their own possibilities... enthused by their insightful wonderings, generating ideas, seeking solutions and realising their own potential.

When I started Art Out Loud NZ I simply tapped into my creative vein and started painting again.

After many gifts for young relatives and requests from friends...
I slowly came to understand that what motivated me to expand my range of artwork, was not only the chance to consistently challenge my imagination (freeing myself from the fog of baby-brain) but the opportunity to spark the imaginings of others - this goal continues to underpin all that Art Out Loud NZ is moving towards...

I knew I needed to begin to organise my thoughts and goals for my creative adventure and the expectations I had for my life. I wanted to map out and explore my vision...

...  I began my "Vision Map" with simple tools - paper, glue, scissors and magazine clippings... and invested several hours. Even if you are not in business... I can recommend doing something like this for your personal goals... just take a day - throw your values, hopes and dreams out there and become conscious of your ambitions and the way you are shaping your life. New revelations come to light and the connection you feel with 'your bigger picture' will surprise, excite and certainly drive you!

So how far can vision take you? As far as you want to go.

Great post. I lvoe the designs for your family, they are ingeneous. Taking the time is an investment in itself in your business. That first leap of faith in your creative potential in starting the business sounds like it is really paying off and you are becoming more aware of other reasons for continuing and developing this.
