I have been a very busy squirrel at the Art Out Loud NZ headquarters with my head down and tail up - not harvesting acorns but something precious all the same.
It's been very exciting seeing my beloved hand painted designs so well received by the children they represent - so connected to their collectable, unique to them. Time and effort invested with invaluable returns!
So much more in the mix... along with creating new and exciting Name Art designs, I have been undertaking intense preparation for the Waikato Home and Garden Show - an event that will provide a wide audience for my designer wares. The display is nearly complete and will undoubtedly make for an eye-catching stand despite it's demure size... will it fulfil my goal and stop on-lookers in their tracks and entice them to some day welcome my designs into their homes? Here's hoping!
I have been humbled by attending the CraftMad Rototuna School Market for the past few months. Exhibiting beside the many creative talents has been exhilarating - they are simply inspired to make something beautiful from retro relics, natural fibres and revitalise traditional hobbies, tried and true. A positive and supportive community of home-makers and those that make productive use of idle hands.
Worth a mention... my designs are now set to feature on T-Shirts dedicated to celebrating the wearer - in Art Out Loud NZ Name Art form - of course! This has been requested for awhile now and as my model pics show - these garments really do make a personal statement and look at home on fabric.
ps. Chace's painting raised NZ$145 for his cause, a drop in the bucket but it's been awesome to see how many others have pooled together to see a bucket half full :)
ooo yes... and Christchurch and Starship Children's Hospital are next on my list, many thanks to the gorgeous ABs who have helped to decorate my Word Art Rugby World Cup canvases with their fantastic scrawl.
